There are many benefits to our farmer’s markets and CSA program. You will be offered the freshest fruit and vegetables and provided the highest quality produce. The fruit and vegetables are selected for flavor, picked at peak perfection, washed and cooled, and handled with care. You have the benefit of knowing where your food is grown, who is growing it, and that you and your family will be eating healthier meals.

Our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program is a successful part of our farm business and we are happy to offer it each year to our customers.

What is a CSA all about?

A CSA is an arrangement where individuals buy into the farm at the start of the growing season and in exchange receive a share of the farm's produce. Each week from June through October shareholders take home a bounty of freshly picked produce ranging from gourmet green beans and heirloom tomatoes to our delicious peas, squash and sweet red strawberries. The farm raises more than 110 varieties of fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs. A large share is for a family of 3 to 5 members and is $510 for 22 weeks. We also offer a biweekly (large) share for 11 weeks at $300. In 2008, by popular demand we added a small share for a family of 2 adults and is $335 for 22 weeks.  (prices for online orders will include a credit processing fee)

We also offer Egg Shares.

Our cage-free Rhode Island Red laying chickens produce fresh brown eggs.

CSA is a partnership between the grower and the consumer. CSA members make a commitment to support the farm throughout the growing season by paying in advance for a portion of the farmer’s produce. This CSA arrangement guarantees farmers a market for the season’s produce, provides a more secure income and enables them to maintain their farming way of life.

Our 2016 CSA Season has concluded.

You may get more information about the 2017 DFF CSA program by emailing us at ddillner@consolidated.net.

Someone else may pick up your weekly or bi-weekly share if you are unable to do so yourself.  Shares not picked up will be donated to local food banks and charities or the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.  The farm pick-up site offers an exchange table every week. We have added a swap box to each pick up site to offer an exchange or swap an item.

CSA members receive a share of the farm’s produce.

  • A large weekly share is designed to provide a 22 week program of fruit and vegetables for a family of 3-5 members. Each share contains 9 to 12 varieties of seasonal fruits and vegetables.
  • A biweekly share is a large share that is available every other week (11 week program).
  • A small weekly share is designed to provide a 22 week program of fruit and vegetables for a family of 2 adult members. Each share contains 6 to 8 varieties of seasonal fruits and vegetables.
  • Our members can add an egg share on a weekly (22 week program) or biweekly basis (11 week program). Fresh brown eggs are collected from our Rhode Island Red Cross chickens.
  • “Jane’s Specials” is an opportunity for members to order extra produce and specialty items delivered the coming week to your pick-up site. Each Thursday you will receive a list (and a link) in an email of “extras” you can order from our online store. These items can be ordered by credit card through PayPal starting Thursday afternoon through Sunday until 9 pm. Some examples of these extras are: Amish pies, breads and cookies, extra quantities of fruit and vegetables, flower bouquets, fresh herb and flower plants, a variety of cheeses, pastured brown eggs, jams, relishes, goat milk soap and lotions, Dillner Family Farm honey, maple syrup, salsas, Misera’s frozen organic chickens, fall decorations and “end of season” specials.

As crops rotate throughout the season, weekly shares vary in items and types of produce, reflecting our local growing season and weather conditions. CSA members receive the produce at prices that are slightly less than the farmers market. Our members have priority on selection and availability over our farmers' markets and roadside stands. Refer to the harvest calendar that includes estimated amounts and in which season they are available.

"Every time we pick up our share, we really feel like we're sampling all the best of that moment of the growing season..."  Jodi/ Regent Square

"Every product we received was of the highest quality and had exceptional taste!... We loved being able to meal plan with the email over the weekend... It was such a joy to pick up our fresh products and cook with them!"  Victoria/ Plum

"I just wanted to share how happy we are with your CSA... The variety of produce we recieve is fantastic, and the quality is superb.  We have been nothing less that thrilled with our share each week, and are grateful to have found your farm!  Communication is excellent, and the time or two that I've needed to speak with someone, I've been met with nothing but kindness.  Thank you so much for all of your hard work to provide such great products; your work is very much appreciated!"  With great respect, Melissa/ Franklin Park

"... We have learned to use every bit of our produce.  We will blanche, roast, freeze, and never just throw something away.  We have shared with neighbors when we have enough.  We can't wait until next year!"  Patty/ Plum

"Loved, loved, loved this CSA.  I rarely needed to go out and buy any produce at all..." MN/ Franklin Park

"Wonderful!  I am becoming more and more hooked on seasonal eating because of your CSA... the saddest day of the year for me is when I have to step foot in a Giant Eagle and buy vegetables after the season ends."  Cale/ Franklin Park

"This was my first year in a CSA- I chose Dillner's because of the economical pricing/sizing option and the variety you offered (both fruit and veggies) as well as the option to "add on" (Jane's Specials).  Brenda/ Seven Fields

"Thank you for all your hard work.  We are truly grateful to the Dillner family... You bring nourishment and peace of mind to my family at an affordable price."  KC/ Squirrel Hill
